Safari Lenka’s itinerary features Arusha National Park (1N), celebrated for its scenic walking safaris, playful colobus monkeys, and stunning views of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. The journey then continues to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and majestic baobab trees, before returning to Arusha.
Today our safari begins! Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in or around Arusha between 8 to 8:30 AM and take you to Arusha National Park. This is a scenic park with a decent number of animals. The park is at the base of Mount Meru and has a range of habitats including forest – home to the black-and-white colobus monkey – and is excellent for birding. Lakes here often host flocks of flamingo. The park’s appeal is mainly its scenery. After short game drives, we explore the park on foot where you might come across giraffes, buffalos and other animals from a distance. Post the game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.
Today’s adventure begins at around 8:00 AM from your hotel, heading toward Tarangire National Park with packed lunch boxes. After a 2.5-hour drive, we arrive at the park and start our exciting game drive. Tarangire is renowned for its towering baobab trees, which dwarf the wildlife grazing beneath them, and the life-giving Tarangire River, home to some of Africa’s largest elephant herds.
You may also spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, lesser kudu, buffalo, oryx, eland, giraffes, and zebras. A scenic picnic spot inside the park will be our lunch stop before continuing with game drives into the afternoon. By late afternoon, we will drive back to Arusha, arriving around 6:00 PM. This marks the final day of your Safari Lenka tour—time to bid farewell to your guide with unforgettable memories. (Hotel accommodation in Arusha can be arranged at an additional cost.)
